College Preparation

What is College Prep?

  • College Prep classes help adult students reach specific goals of improving their skills before taking a school entrance exam or trade test.

How can Metro South help me?

  • Metro South assists students who want to improve their reading, math, and writing skills.  
  • Students work independently at their own pace with the guidance of an instructor.  

Requirements:

  • Students must be at least 17 years old.
  • Students must earn a score of 10 or higher on a TABE D English reading test at registration.  
  • If the test score is not met, a student will be offered an alternative class to improve their reading skills.

 Day Program:

  • Bloomington Community Education Campus: 2575 W 88th St. Bloomington, MN 55431
    • Mon & Wed 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
      Tues & Thurs 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
    • Students must attend at least 16 hours per week to stay enrolled in class.

Evening Program:

  • Bloomington Community Education Campus: 2575 W 88th St. Bloomington, MN 55431
    • Mon & Wed 4:30 – 7:45 p.m.
    • Students must attend at least 6 hours per week to stay enrolled in class.
  • Normandale Community College Campus: 9700 France Ave. S. Bloomington, MN 55431
    • Math: Mon & Wed 6:00 – 8:45 p.m.
    • Writing & Reading: Tues & Thurs 6:00 – 8:45 p.m.

  • The first step to getting started is to attend a registration session.
